Getting more speed and a longer life from our faster camera-free tire for competition day has not been an easy task. We knew we had an incredibly fast base: RapidAir's unique construction. Instead of a traditional three-layer housing that accumulates material under the bearing band where the resistance to the bearing increases, the Rapid Air housing has only two layers that overlap on the side wall that not only roll faster, but also grab better and be more flexible. The new Gripton T2 compound elevates this already formidable performance: to the fastest and most efficient compound we have ever created. We have combined everything with the legendary grip of our Gripton T5 compound on the flanks. With this double compound, a 26 mm S-Works Turbo RapidAir 2BR pneumatic set saves two watts of resistance to the bearing compared to the previous tire but adding approximately 1000 kilometers of useful life to the set. Oh, do we mention they're lighter? Only 230 grams in 26 mm. As a tubeless tire, the new RapidAir allows you to leave the spare chamber at home when combined with the RapidAir sealing liquid, but the protection does not end there. With Kevlar Blackbelt's new hybrid protection under the belt, you have 12 % more protection against punctures, with a lighter weight and more flexibility for a more agile driving. The new S-Works Rapid Air is also compatible with hook rims and without it to have the ability to mount tires to the pressure you want.
